Robert Walpole became a nuisance amongst other politicians and started getting massive hate, especially from his opponents. He was sentenced and imprisoned in the Tower of London for six months and expelled from parliament after he was found guilty of a high breach of trust, and notorious corruption. His corruption charges were heavily based on the fact that he was the First Lord of the Treasury.
