Robert Iger Salary: What Is Disney CEO Salary?

Robert Iger, the interim CEO of Entertainment conglomerate Walt Disney received  a salary of $3 million the last time he held the position in 2020.

His compensation for fiscal year included $22.9 million cash bonus, $9.5 million in Disney stock and $9.3 million in stock options.

Iger also received a yearly compensation of $45.9 million when he was Chairman.

Robert  Iger was born on February 10, 1951, in New York and was raised Jewish.

Iger holds a magna cum laude from the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Television and Radio.

He began his journey to overseeing media giants when he worked with ABC as far back as 1974.

Iger rose through the ranks and became ABC Television’s president and chief operating officer in the early 90s.

In 1999, he became president of Disney and in 2000, he was named President and Chief Operating Officer of the company.

He led the company in various capacities until 2020 when he retired, even though he remained Executive Chairman.

On November 20, 2022, Iger made a comeback to The Walt Disney Company, following the resignation of Bob Chapek.

Iger has made tremendous impact at Walt Disney in the last couple of decades. From growing its shares and presence in international markets, expanding the company in different countries, to recording a profit increase from $48 billion to $257 billion.

He had helped acquire Pixar in 2006 for $7.4 billion, Marvel Entertainment in 2009 for $4 billion, Lucasfilm in 2012 for $4.06 billion, and the entertainment assets of 21st Century Fox in 2019 for $71.3 billion.
