Robert Gordy was an American music publishing executive and recording artist. Robert was married to Theresa. There are no personal records of Theresa.

Robert Gordy was born in Detroit in 1931 and began his music career in 1958 when he co-wrote and performed the hit “Everyone Was There” with Berry on Dick Clark’s TV show.

According to a news release from Universal Music Enterprises, which owns Motown, he contributed to several hits.

Mr Gordy also acted, and his first role was as the drug pusher “Hawk” in the 1972 film “Lady Sings the Blues.”

Mr Gordy also ran the Jobete Music Publishing company, which was a Motown Records music publishing affiliate. According to the release, under his leadership, Jobete Music evolved from a holder of song copyrights to a “highly profitable international publishing company.”

Robert Gordy died of natural causes on Friday, October 21, 2022, at his home in Marina del Rey, California at the age of 91.
