Robbie Coltrane was a veteran Scottish-born comic and actor best known for his roles in the British crime series Cracker.

Coltrane was born on March 30, 1950, in Glasgow, Scotland, as the son of a doctor and a teacher.
He continued his art studies after graduating from Glasgow Art School at Moray House College of Education in Edinburgh.
His other comedy credits include A Kick Up the Eighties, The Comic Strip, and Alfresco, and he quickly became a fixture on British television.

Coltrane appeared in two James Bond films, GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough, as Valentin Zukovsky.
Other notable supporting roles for Coltrane included his portrayal of Rubeus Hagrid the Giant in the Harry Potter films, beginning with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 2001
Early television credits for Coltrane include Flash Gordon, Blackadder, and Keep It in the Family.
Robbie Coltrane passed away according to his agent WME on October 14, 2022. His cause of death is currently unknown. He was 72 years old at the time.
