Manchester City winger and Algeria International, Riyad Mahrez, has hit back at thesun.co.uk over an article that seems to put words in his mouth.

The tabloid reported that Riyad Mahrez has revealed some of his colleague footballers are only interested in the money from the game and don’t even care to watch others play.
It said the former Leicester City player made the revelation during an interview with France’s Canal Plus TV show Clique.
“I keep in touch with football mates who have amazing careers you see, but they don’t particularly love football.
“They do it because, well there is a lot of money, they are obliged, they like the game and its all they know, like they don’t even watch the games, they don’t care that much.
“Loads of times in the dressing room ‘what did this and that team do’ you know it could be the semi-final of the Champions League.”

Riyad Mahrez chanced on the information when @Footballforall quoted the thesun.co.uk in a tweet.
“Riyad Mahrez has said: ‘The lads at City don’t watch other teams’ matches on TV. They don’t give a shit about them.’ Via @TheSun”
Riyad Mahrez replied to the tweet saying he has never made the statement as it is speculated.
