Rick Pitino is an American college basketball coach who is the head coach for Iona University.

Rick Pitino and his wife Joanne Minardi have five children who are Daniel Pitino, Jacqueline Pitino, Ryan Pitino, Michael Pitino, and Richard Pitino.
Unfortunately, their son Daniel Pitino died tragically at the age of six months due to a congenital heart defect.
Rick and Joanne established the Daniel Pitino Foundation along with a Daniel Pitino shelter in Owensboro, Kentucky in his memory, which has raised millions of dollars for children in need.

Rick Pitino’s other son Richard Pitino, is also a college basketball coach. He is currently the men’s basketball coach for the New Mexico Lobos. He was the head coach of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers men’s basketball team from 2013 to 2021.
Richard Pitino graduated from Providence College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in history after attending St. Sebastian’s School in Needham, Massachusetts.
Richard Pitino was the Friars men’s basketball team manager under Tim Welsh during his time at Providence. He also worked as an assistant basketball coach at Saint Andrew’s School in nearby Barrington, Rhode Island, for two years.
