Richard Gary Bowness is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player currently serving as the head coach of the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Bowness is married to Judy, his wife of many years and they have three children: two sons, Richard Bowness and Ryan Bowness, and a daughter, Kristen Bowness.

Ryan Bowness is a former director of professional scouting for the Pittsburgh Penguins and the son of Rick Bowness, who served as the first-ever coach of the Senators.

Ryan currently serves as one of the Assistant General Managers at Ottawa Senators.
Ryan, who comes from Halifax, will be in charge of contracts for the team and will act as general manager of the American Hockey League’s Belleville Senators.
Ryan’s appointment came after former AGM Peter MacTavish left the Sens to join Quartexx Hockey, a hockey management firm, earlier in May, 2022.
