He began his career in JP Morgan where he worked for eight years. He also worked for Goldman Sachs for 23 years. He went from being a normal staff to becoming Chairman of its principal investment business in Europe, and eventually left the company in 2007.
From 2013 to 2019, Sharp served as a member of the Bank of England’s Financial Policy Committee. He also joined RoundShield – a property investment company – where he served as a senior member from 2014 to 2021.
