Mr. Peter, who was in his mid-40s and also owned the Sinagro Guest House in Sogakope, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Sogakope District Hospital on Monday, May 20, around 7:00 p.m.

The incident occurred while he and his workers were harvesting rice.

According to Mr. Johnson Kobby Amedzo, the Assembly Member for Xikpo-Agbagorme Electoral Area and a friend of the deceased, Mr. Peter was shot when he went to investigate gunshots that had wounded one of his workers, known as Kafui, as they were packing harvested rice into a vehicle.

Mr. Amedzo urged the public to provide any information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.

Although sources suspect a possible land dispute, the Sogakope Police, who are handling the case, declined to provide further details, stating only that investigations are ongoing.

Mr. Peter, a former Marketing Manager of Brazil Rice, left behind a wife and four children. His body has been deposited at the Sogakope District morgue awaiting autopsy.
