Replacement for Lost Voter Cards Scheduled for May 30

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the replacement process for lost voter ID cards is scheduled to commence from Thursday, May 30, to Friday, June 14, 2024. During this period, individuals can also transfer their votes and apply for proxy voting.

The replacement activities will be conducted at EC district offices, selected electoral areas, and public universities across the country.

It is important to note that the EC has outlined specific guidelines for the replacement process. Guarantors are reminded that vouching for more than 10 individuals, non-Ghanaians, and individuals under the age of 18 is a criminal offense.

Additionally, the registration of newly eligible voters, particularly those who have recently turned 18, will begin on May 7 and conclude on May 27, 2024. This exercise aims to add them to the voter register.

Furthermore, individuals who are 18 years and older but have not yet registered for a voter’s ID card will have the opportunity to do so during this period.
