McGuire’s proficiency behind the plate, as well as his left-handedness, made him an appealing target in the 2013 MLB Draft.
He was picked in the first round of the 2013 MLB draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates and traded to the Toronto Blue Jays in 2016. In 2018, he made his MLB debut.
