Red West parents: Meet Newton Thomas West and Lois West

Red West, originally Robert Gene West, was born in 1936 to his parents, Newton Thomas West and Lois West.

Raised by his mother, Lois, in Memphis, Tennessee, Red’s upbringing was marked by his distant relationship with his father, Newton Thomas West, a construction worker.
