Starting second on the grid in wet conditions alongside pole-sitter George Russell, Verstappen showcased dominance at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Ile Notre-Dame.

The 26-year-old Dutch driver has now secured a remarkable 50 victories in the last 75 F1 races.

Verstappen finished 3.879 seconds ahead of Lando Norris from McLaren in the 70-lap race on the 2.71-mile (4.36-kilometer) road course.

Despite intermittent rain showers throughout the afternoon, Verstappen maintained his lead with skill and precision.

“It’s a lot of fun to drive these kinds of races now and then,” Verstappen commented. “You don’t want it all the time because that’s too stressful. But I had a lot of fun out there today.”

Norris, who lost a 10-second lead due to a safety car intervention, expressed frustration at not clinching victory despite having the pace to do so.

Verstappen’s win extends his lead in the season standings to 56 points over Charles Leclerc of Ferrari.

“As a team, we made the right calls today,” Verstappen remarked. “It’s great to have three wins in a row here. I hope I can add more in the future.”

Notably, Verstappen avoided hitting a groundhog on Lap 31, a feat that added a touch of drama to his victory.

Verstappen’s victory at the Canadian Grand Prix marks his third consecutive win in Montreal, a feat previously achieved only by Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher. With 60 career wins, he solidifies his place among the sport’s elite, trailing only Hamilton and Schumacher in the all-time victory list.
