Shehorn suffered severe injuries to her neck, arms, and abdomen during the assault but miraculously survived. She was rushed to the hospital, where she underwent multiple surgeries.
Shehorn was discovered bleeding by her surrogate mother, Christine White, at about 4:30 a.m. on Thursday.
“I found her and I had to go into the bedroom where it happened,” White told KTLA. “That wasn’t a pretty sight.”
Shehorn, who has worked on films such as “Rebel Moon,” “Babylon,” the recent “Mean Girls” remake, and BET+’s “The Rich and the Ruthless,” was initially admitted in critical condition but has since been moved out of the ICU.

Friend Jed Dornoff reported that Shehorn, 35, has limited use of her hands following the attack. He posted a photo of Shehorn and White in the hospital, showing Shehorn looking surprisingly upbeat.
Shehorn’s assailant, against whom she had recently obtained a restraining order due to domestic violence, fled the state after the attack. He was arrested in Texas near the Mexican border, according to law enforcement reports.
Friends revealed that the assailant is a background actor whom Shehorn met on the set of “Rebel Moon.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up by friends to help cover Shehorn’s hospital bills and what is expected to be a lengthy rehabilitation process.
Shehorn is a member of IATSE 706 Makeup Artists & Hair Stylists Guild.
