Răzvan Lucescu: Who Is Mircea Lucescu’s Son?

Razvan Lucescu is a football manager, former football player, and son of Kyiv coach Mircea Lucescu.

Razvan had played as a goalkeeper during his playing career, playing for Sportul Studențesc, Național București, Brașov, Rapid București, FCM Bacău, and Crema Calcio abroad.

Razvan has been coaching the Greek Super League club PAOK since 2021.
He has also coached many other clubs including Brasov, Al Hilal, Xanthi, and Petrolul Ploiesti.

Who Is Mircea Lucescu?

Mircea Lucescu is a former professional football player and current head coach of Ukrainian Premier League club Dynamo Kyiv.

Born on July 29, 1945, in Bucharest, Romania, Lucescu spent most of his playing career time at the Romanian club Dinamo București, playing as a forward.

Lucescu was part of the team that won the Romanian league title in 1964 and 1965. He had also earned 70 caps for the Romanian national team.

Lucescu began his coaching career in the late 1970s, by coaching several clubs such as Corvinul Hunedoara, Rapid București, Galatasaray, Inter Milan, Beşiktaş, Shakhtar Donetsk, Dinamo BucureștI, Zenith Saint Petersburg, and Turkey.

He has achieved significant success in the last four decades as a football manager.

Lucescu spent over ten years in Shakhtar Donetsk, and led the club to numerous domestic titles, including the Ukrainian Premier League, the Ukrainian Cup. He also led the team to the UEFA Cup quarter-finals in the 2008-2009 season.

Lucescu additionally served as head coach of the Romanian national team from 2009 to 2011, and from 2014 to 2017. During his tenure, he led Romania to qualify for Euro 2016, until they reached the knockout stage.

In 2020, Lucescu began coaching Dynamo Kyiv, after signing a two-year contract. In 2023, Lucescu had a leg surgery, and had to take a break from his team.

Lucescu is considered one of the most successful and influential Romanian football figures.
