He was an All-America college football player for the Miami Hurricanes.

Lewis has a total of six kids, two girls, and four boys. At first playing for Coastal Carolina, then the University of Miami, Ray Lewis III played collegiate football.
In 2016, after being charged with third-degree criminal sexual assault by a South Carolina grand jury, he was expelled from both Coastal Carolina University and the football team.

After a protracted and more in-depth examination by South Carolina law enforcement officers, those accusations were withdrawn.
Later, in 2021, Ray Lewis III would play indoor football for the Wyoming Mustangs. After graduating from high school, his other son, Rayshad Lewis, committed to Utah State.
His first year was fruitful. Rayshad made the decision to move to the University of Maryland following his first year.
