Popular Sri Lankan rapper Shiraz, who is famously known as Rude Bwoy, passed away after performing at a protest site in Colombo amid the ongoing crisis.

The rapper collapsed at the demonstration location, according to Newswire, where people had gathered to demand President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s resignation over the country’s catastrophic economic crisis.

He was rushed to the nearest hospital after collapsing, but he was declared dead on the way. According to reports, the rapper died suddenly of a heart attack. A video from the event has also gone viral, with admirers expressing their sorrow at the tragic loss.
According to Newswire, the late rapper took part in the ‘Go Home Gota’ rally held at Galle Face Ground. He captivated the enormous throng that had assembled at the location by performing Bob Marley’s classic song, Get up, Stand up, before collapsing.
