The Eagles’ founding member Randy Meisner has passed away. The co-writer and vocalist of “Take It to the Limit,” a bassist by trade, was 77 years old.

Meisner passed away on Wednesday night as a result of complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the band said Thursday.
Meisner apparently was not invited when the Eagles came back together in 1994. He was asked to join the band’s 2013 global tour and performed with them at their 1998 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Due of his deteriorating condition, he chose not to attend. Meisner said that the band assisted with his medical expenses in 2016.
Meisner passed away just a few weeks after the remaining Eagles members revealed they would be going on one final tour.

It is the kind of condition that results in breathing difficulties and airflow obstruction.
