Randy Abbey, a member of the Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council and the host of Metro TV’s flagship show, Good Morning Ghana, has stated that he is not interested in becoming the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) next President.

Abbey. who seems to be interested in retaining his current position in the GFA set up in an interview with Asempa FM, said:
“I’m not interested in contesting for the GFA presidential seat; it is out of the equation.”
The acclaimed TV host and football administrator expressed concern over Ghana’s bad representation in the media, adding that it impedes the country’s advancement.

He stated that, despite the hiccups that have plagued our game in recent years, the media should aim to focus on the positives rather than the negatives.
“Negative reportage by the media is one problem affecting Ghana football,” he said.
Abbey has had a particularly rewarding year, as his club, Hearts of Lions, has successfully re-entered the Ghana Premier League after an eight-year hiatus.
He has promised to invest in the club in order to ensure its competitiveness in the future season.
Abbey previously ran for the vice presidential position in the 2019 GFA elections.
