Ranbir Kapoor Parents: Meet Rishi Kapoor And Neetu Singh

Ranbir Raj Kapoor was born on 28 September 1982 in Bombay, Maharashtra, India to Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, both actors of the Hindi film industry.

Rishi Kapoor
Rishi was an Indian actor, film director and producer who worked in Hindi films. He was the recipient of several accolades, including four Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award.

After two decades, he had his on-screen reunion with actor Amitabh Bachchan in 102 Not Out (2018), in which the two play an old-aged father-son duo.

In 2018, he appeared in the Netflix drama Rajma Chawal and was critically acclaimed for his portrayal of a Muslim in Mulk.

In 2019, two films of Kapoor’s were released: Jhootha Kahin Ka, a comedy-drama film directed by Smeep Kang; and The Body, co-starring Emraan Hashmi, a mystery-thriller written and directed by Jeethu Joseph. Released on 13 December 2019, The Body would be Kapoor’s last film to be released in his lifetime.

Rishi died April 30, 2020 at age 67, after being diagnosed of Leukaemia.

Neetu Singh
Singh, 63, is an Indian actress who is known for appearing in Hindi films throughout the late 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s. In 2012, Singh was inducted into the Walk of the Stars, an entertainment hall of fame at Bandra Bandstand in Mumbai.

Singh’s most successful release of 1977 was Amar Akbar Anthony, directed by veteran filmmaker Manmohan Desai, in which she played a young doctor in love with a singer played by Rishi Kapoor.

In the same year, Desai also cast her in the adventure film Dharam Veer opposite Jeetendra and the crime drama Parvarish opposite Amitabh Bachchan.

In 1980, she married actor and frequent collaborator Rishi Kapoor, which lasted until his death in 2020.
