The nostalgic charm of 90’s Nickelodeon shows is being overshadowed by a new documentary shedding light on the alleged abuse endured by child actors during that era.

“Quiet on Set,” a revealing docuseries, features former Nickelodeon cast and crew members sharing harrowing accounts of their experiences on set, particularly with Dan Schneider, a prominent figure during the late 90’s and early 2000’s.

The documentary alleges cases of sexism, racism, and inappropriate behavior between Schneider and young cast members.

Among the disturbing stories recounted in “Quiet on Set” is the claim that crew members were asked to massage Schneider’s neck during filming—a practice now acknowledged by Schneider’s representative as highly inappropriate.

While Schneider’s representative expressed regret over the incidents, they stated that such behavior would never happen again.

A notable figure featured in the documentary is Drake Bell, who discloses for the first time that he was the John Doe victim in Brian Peck’s child abuse case.

Peck, who worked alongside Schneider as an acting and dialogue coach, faced accusations related to his work on “All That” and “The Amanda Show.”

Co-director Robertson emphasized the documentary’s significance, expressing pride in bringing forward over a dozen sources who had never shared their stories publicly before.

Robertson also extended an invitation to individuals like Ariana Grande, who was part of the Nickelodeon universe, to share their experiences. The filmmakers reached out to various personalities for comment, including Grande.

“Quiet on Set” is available for streaming on Max, offering viewers a sobering look into the darker side of Nickelodeon’s past.
