Queen Elizabeth, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch and the nation’s figurehead for seven decades, passed away at the age of 96 on Thursday, September 8 2022.

The news of her passing was shared by Buckingham Palace said in an official statement on Thursday, September 8, 2022.
“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon,” Buckingham Palace announced in an official statement on Thursday.
According to Buckingham Palace, she had been suffering from “episodic mobility problems” since the end of last year, forcing her to cancel nearly all of her public engagements.

After doctors expressed concern about her health, her family rushed to her Scottish home, Balmoral Castle.
Queen Elizabeth II, the world’s oldest and longest-serving head of state, ascended to the throne at the age of 25 following the death of her father, King George VI, on February 6, 1952.
Queen Elizabeth II, is survived by her other children, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, and their spouses.
Prince William, next in line to the throne, and Prince Harry are among her eight grandchildren. She has a dozen great-grandchildren.
