The model and actress, also known as Jordan, passed away yesterday following a short illness.

Her partner Nick wrote on Brighton and Hove News: “She died peacefully a stone’s throw away from the sea in her home town of Seaford, East Sussex, in the company of her loving family at 9 pm [April 3] after a short period of illness.

“She succumbed to a relatively rare form of cancer known as cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer).

“Jordan was a wonderful woman and will be remembered for countless decades to come.”

Rooke was known for her collaborations with the Sex Pistols and fashion designer Vivienne Westwood.

She often sported bleached hair, striking make-up, and out-there clothing which helped form the punk aesthetic of leather, rubber, and partial nudity.

Leading tributes, Boy George said on Twitter: “RIP Jordan Punk Icon and teenage obsession. So sad!”

TV’s Jonathan Ross added: “An amazing woman. She changed our world.

“And she loved cats. So sad she’s gone.”

Rooke will feature in a new six-part TV drama series by Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle which follows the Sex Pistols’ early days.

In the biographical drama Pistol, she will be portrayed by Game Of Thrones actress Maisie Williams, who was last week spotted shooting a scene in a see-through jacket with nothing underneath.
