She is currently being held at the Cantonments Police Station, assisting with the investigation.
Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the NDC, commented on the arrest in a Facebook post, describing it as an attempt by the police to intimidate and silence the NDC.
He stated that the weapon for which Naa Koryoo has been arrested is registered in her name and that all the necessary registration documents have been submitted to the police.

Gyamfi maintains that Naa Koryoo has done nothing wrong and should be released immediately. He contrasted her situation with that of Hawa Koomson, who in 2020 fired a gun at a registration center but faced no similar detention.
“Unlike Hawa Koomson, who in 2020 actually fired a gun at a registration center, Naa Koryoo has not fired any gun or weapon. Yet, the NPP-controlled Police service is hellbent on detaining her. Information reaching me indicates that the Dampare-led Police has detained her at the CID Headquarters since morning and are now transferring her to the Cantonments Police station for further detention,” Gyamfi said.
He urged all NDC supporters to gather at the Cantonments Police Station to show solidarity with Naa Koryoo and demand her release.
“Enough of the oppression and harassment of NDC figures by the NPP-controlled Police Service,” Gyamfi’s statement concluded.
