PewDiePie Biography

PewDiePie whose real name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg was born on October 24, 1989, in Gothenburg, Sweden to parents, Ulf Christian Kjellberg and Lotta Kristine Johanna.

PewDiePie was an avid game lover even while he was young and would skip classes to play video games at an Internet café with friends during his days at high school.

Kjellberg originally pursued a degree in industrial economics and technology management at the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. He later signed up for a YouTube account with the name PewDiePie in the year 2010 while still in the university. However, he got kicked out of University after losing concentration in his degree field.

PewDiePie Career

PewDiePie decided to focus on creating content for his YouTube channel after he failed to get a traineeship with a marketing agency located in Scandinavia.

Fortunately, PewDiePie’s contents got him the undivided attention of many audiences as he surprisingly reached his first 1 million subscribers in July 2012.

By December that year, PewDiePie was able to sign with Maker Studios. His success went as far as August 15, 2013, when his channel became the most-subscribed YouTube channel in the world. His channel has currently garnered over 108 million subscribers.

PewDiePie was voted Most Popular Gaming Web Star at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards. In 2016, he was included on Time Magazine’s list of The World’s 100 Most Influential People.
