Peter Britton Tobin was a convicted serial killer and sex offender from Scotland. Peter Tobin was the father of three children Daniel Tobin and Ian Tobin. His other child died soon after birth

Peter was tried and convicted for three murders committed between 1991 and 2006. Aside from these three murders, police believe Tobin is responsible for the deaths of several other young women and girls.

Before his first murder conviction, Tobin was sentenced to ten years in prison for a double rape in 1993, after which he was released in 2004.

Peter Tobin died on October 8, 2022, after becoming ill in the prison where he was serving three life sentences.

On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, he was transferred from HMP Edinburgh to a hospital, believed to be the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where he died, according to sources.

The exact illness he died from has not been made known. Peter Tobin suffered from several health issues whilst he was alive.
