Peter Simonischek Obituary

Austrian-born German-based actor, Peter Simonischek has been reported dead by numerous sources. No cause of death was announced but it was disclosed that he died on May 30, 2023. He was 76 years old.

Many celebrities and fans have expressed their condolences via social media to the bereaved family.

“A great actor and a wonderful colleague. The death of Peter Simonischek makes me very sad right now. Just recently I saw “Oktober, November” with him again. At the film’s premiere party, we were talking about his death scene and he asked me if he had overplayed it there. Of course, I said no, although I had no idea about the last rebellion of dying. At least I believed him,” German actor Wolfgang Zarnack said.

“So sad to hear that the Austrian actor, Peter Simonischek has died. Had the pleasure to work with him in Salzburg during a TV show. It was so interesting to meet him and his wife Brigitte. RIP,” actor Jan Aage Fjortoft also wrote.

“Really, really sad to read of the death of Peter Simonischek, the actor who played “Toni Erdmann.” I’ll never forget the first time I saw it – the hotel bar reveal surpassed the vomit scene in Team America as the hardest I’ve ever laughed in a cinema,” Ashley Clark shared.
