He also appeared in several movies and tv shows including Geburg, Hierankl, Years of Love, Ludwig II, Ruby Red, Der Kaktus, October November, and more, in the early 2000s.

Simonischek’s most popular movie was Toni Erdmann. He was best known to international audiences for his leading role in the comedy-drama.
