In 2022, Sagan will be riding for French ProTeam on a two-year contract alongside his leadout and bike supplier. He will be riding for Team TotalEnergies from next season.

In 2008, Peter won the junior cross-country race at the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships.
Peter is one of the greatest talents in the history of road cycling.
He has won three World Championships back to back one European Championship, two Paris–Nice stages, seven Tirreno–Adriatico stages, one in the Tour de Romandie, three and the overall classification in the Tour de Pologne, a record seventeen stages and the overall in the Tour of California.

He topped his laurels with another fifteen in the Tour de Suisse.
Other classical wins he has made include the Monument races Paris-Roubaix and Tour of Flanders, three Gent–Wevelgem races and E3 Harelbeke, eighteen stages in Grand Tours.
Peter is a seven-time consecutive winner of the points classification of the Tour de France – a record he made in the years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019.
