It is gonna stay forever in the memory of the former Arsenal legend, Peter Crouch, having to watch Cristiano Ronaldo breaks Ali Daei’s all-time leading goalscorer in men’s international competitions.
Peter Crouch was present at the Estadio Algarve on September 1, 2021, when Cristiano Ronaldo netted a brace to move his international numbers to 111 surpassing Ali Daei who scored 109 goals for Iran between 1993 -2006.
Before Cristiano Ronaldo made the historic numbers impossibly possible, he had missed a penalty in the first half. The Portuguese International continued to grab a brace in the 89th and the 90+6 minute to earn Portugal all three points.
