Born in 1947 in Coventry to parents John Waterman and Stella Waterman, Pete’s early life was shaped by the post-war era’s hardships, including bomb-ravaged surroundings and food rationing.

John Waterman, Pete’s father, contributed his labor to the aviation industry, working as an aircraft factory worker. The family’s financial situation was far from affluent, and Pete’s recollections paint a picture of resilience in the face of adversity.
