Former President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf has been reported dead after suffering from several illnesses while receiving treatment overseas. According to sources, he died in Dubai after multiple organ failures linked to a rare disease from which he suffered. The disease was called amyloidosis.

Musharraf was a military leader who seized power through a coup in 1999. As a leader, he faced several assassination attempts and fought on the frontlines during battles between Islam militants and the West. He was a great ally of the United States as he believed the North American country would help modernize Pakistan.

His political career came to an end in 2008 when he was defeated in the polls and was forced to step down. He was arrested and sentenced to death for treason in 2019, however, he was allowed in 2016 to leave Pakistan and go for medical treatment.
