Pensioner Attacked By Rats

Diana Kirk a disabled elderly woman was rushed to the hospital when a rat attacked her as she slept, creating a “scene from Rambo,” according to her husband.

Diana Kirk, 76, was found drenched in her own blood at their house in Bingham, Nottinghamshire, at 5.45 a.m. on Monday, May 9. She was left shivering and with horrible face injuries.

Before savaging Diana, the 9-inch long critter had been nesting in their sideboard, where her husband John, 85, kept bird seed. The mouse, which attempted to attack Mr Kirk, was captured in a big steel trap set by a neighbour, who subsequently shot it dead with a pellet gun.

Mrs Kirk, who is unable to move due to brain damage at the moment, and is attended to by her husband and a care team that visits their home to assist them.

Mr Kirk said he was awoken by the sound of a rat scratching around’ at his feet the night of the incident, adding that he couldn’t see it properly due to the darkness but that it was clearly a large rodent.

He rushed downstairs to check on his wife, who was covered in blood and had little bite marks on her face.

‘It was like a scene from Rambo,’ he added. Absolutely appalling. She was just shaking and looked up at me with her hands at her neck.’ Mr Kirk immediately called an ambulance, which came at approximately 8.20 a.m.
