Penelope Mary Mordaunt FRSA VRA has been active in her political steps towards helping disabled people. She served as the Minister for Disabled People, Health and Work in 2016 when Theresa May took power.

While serving as the Minister for Disabled People, Health and Work in 2016, she made sure to advocate for people with disabilities pointing out that they should not be excluded from development and humanitarian efforts, or miss out on opportunities and experiences.
Penny Mordaunt was the Secretary of State for International Development between 2017 and 2019 as well as Secretary of State for Defence in 2019. She has been the Member of Parliament representing Portsmouth North since 2010.
Penny Mordaunt is a member of the Conservative Party. She became the first woman to be appointed Secretary of State for Defence in May 2019. In 2021, Penny Mordaunt was appointed Minister of State for Trade Policy. She had earlier served as Minister for Women and Equalities from 2018 to 2019.
