Considering that he was a multiple award-winning filmmaker and a professor at the Chinese Film Academy, it is very well understandable that he was able to rake in such a great amount of wealth over the years.

Tseden died on Monday, May 8, 2023, after reportedly suffering a heart attack. In June 2016, he was detained by the police and was hospitalized after having been subjected to all-night interrogation. Some sources believe that it was the genesis of his health crises.
