Pelumi Nubi, Nigerian solo driver, completes trip from London to Lagos

Nigerian travel content creator and solo driver, Pelumi Nubi, has successfully completed her remarkable journey from London to Lagos, spanning a remarkable 68 days on the road.

Announcing her ambitious expedition back in January 2024, Nubi’s arrival in Lagos was met with warm greetings from Nigerian officials as she crossed the border from Benin on Sunday, April 7.

Facing numerous challenges along the way, the 28-year-old adventurer documented her journey extensively on social media, sharing the highs and lows of her experience.

From a 24-hour delay at the Liberian border to being denied entry into Sierra Leone, Nubi encountered various obstacles throughout her trip.

Despite these setbacks, Nubi persevered, surviving a car crash in Liberia and receiving necessary care before continuing her journey.

Traveling through a total of 17 countries, her route led her from England through France, Spain, Morocco, and the vast expanse of the Sahara desert.

Reflecting on her historic achievement, Nubi expressed gratitude for the warm reception she received and emphasized that her goal was not merely to break records but to inspire others by demonstrating that “impossible” is merely a word.

In an earlier interview, Nubi disclosed that the entire expedition cost nearly $20,000, covering expenses such as fuel, accommodation, and other essentials.

Despite the challenges and expenses, her journey stands as a testament to the power of determination and the human spirit’s capacity for adventure.
