Lissie Harper had been married to PC Harper for four weeks when the Thames Valley police officer was killed after he sustained catastrophic injuries when he was dragged behind a getaway car for more than a mile in Berkshire in August 2019.

Lissie was not pregnant at the time. Although she said she and her husband planned to start trying for a baby after their honeymoon – but the brave cop was killed just weeks before they set off.
Three teenagers were jailed for manslaughter after being acquitted of murder in July 2020. Driver Henry Long, 19, received 16 years, while his accomplices Albert Bowers and Jessie Cole, both 18, were jailed for 13 years.

On March 22, 2021, whicy should have been a day of blowing out candles on top of the cake to celebrate Andrew’s 30th birthday, instead, Lissie will visit one of the couple’s favourite places to lay flowers and remember her childhood sweetheart.
“I would have been spoiling him rotten today… yet instead I will be trying to hold it together while I spend a solemn day with my family, visiting one of Andrew and my favourite places, remembering all of the beautiful memories and things he used to do and love.”
“I will take flowers and tea and sit in quiet contemplation of the life that was cruelly taken from us but also of all the laughter and light that he shared with me. Another milestone that was taken, another special moment in time altered forever”, she said.
