Paul Heckingbottom is an English football, has made a lasting impact both as a player and a coach.
As a player, Heckingbottom graced the field as a defender for several English clubs. His journey included stints at notable teams such as Sunderland, Scarborough, Hartlepool United, Darlington, Norwich City, Bradford City, Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley, and Mansfield Town.

Upon hanging up his boots, Heckingbottom seamlessly transitioned to coaching. His coaching journey took off with Barnsley’s development squad, where he quickly demonstrated his tactical acuity.

A standout moment in his coaching career came during a successful spell as caretaker manager for Barnsley, where he guided the club to promotion and secured the EFL Trophy.
However, the managerial path is not without its twists. In February 2018, Heckingbottom ventured to Leeds United but faced a sack during the 2018 close season after 16 games in charge. Undeterred, he embraced a new challenge in the Scottish Premiership, taking the helm at Hibernian, though this stint concluded in November 2019.
March 2021 saw Heckingbottom’s return to familiar territory as he assumed the role of interim manager at Sheffield United. Following a brief return to the U23’s, he was appointed as the manager on November 25, 2021, in a four-and-a-half-year deal, succeeding Slaviša Jokanović.
Heckingbottom’s managerial prowess shone brightly during the 2022-23 season, earning him the EFL Championship Manager of the Month award three times.
