Arua, a talented all-rounder, left an indelible mark on the sport, showcasing her skills on both the bowling and batting fronts.

Her cricketing journey began in 2010 when she first donned the national colors at the East Asia-Pacific Trophy, representing Papua New Guinea against hosts Japan in Sano.

Over the years, Arua established herself as a mainstay in the PNG national team, participating in various East Asia-Pacific pathway events and Pacific Games cricket tournaments.

Her exceptional performances earned her a spot in the squad for the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier, where she showcased her prowess on the global stage.

Arua’s leadership qualities shone through when she took on the captaincy role for PNG in a match against Ireland at the 2018 T20 World Cup Qualifier.

Her leadership was further recognized when she was named in the ICC Women’s Global Development squad later that year.

Under her captaincy, Papua New Guinea achieved significant milestones, including victory at the 2019 East Asia-Pacific T20 World Cup Qualifier, securing qualification for both the 2019 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier and the 2021 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournaments.

Known for her fluid left-arm wrist spin and astute batting skills, Arua led from the front in the shortest format of the game. She captained PNG in 29 T20 Internationals, registering an impressive record of 29 wins.

Arua’s contribution with the ball was equally remarkable, as evidenced by her tally of 59 T20I wickets at an impressive average of 10.2, making her the highest wicket-taker for PNG in women’s international cricket.

One of her standout performances includes her remarkable figures of 5/7 (4) against Japan, the second-best bowling performance in her team’s T20I history.

Beyond international cricket, Arua also made her mark in women’s franchise T20 cricket, representing the Falcons in Fairbreak tournaments across 2022 and 2023.
