The Ga Mantse’s office has announced an upcoming landmark visit by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, scheduled for Sunday, June 9, 2024.

This unprecedented event, marking the first visit by an Asante monarch, aims to strengthen the ties between the Ga and Asante nations.
Nii Boi Abbey, chair of the visit’s organizing committee, revealed details during a press conference held at the Ga Mantse’s Palace on Thursday, June 6. He disclosed that the visit will culminate in a grand durbar.
Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse, will host this significant cultural event on the forecourt of the palace in Kaneshie, Accra, starting at 11 am.

The visit reciprocates the Ga Mantse’s attendance at Otumfuo’s 25th-anniversary celebrations and aims to reinvigorate the longstanding bonds between the Ga and Asante communities.
Reflecting on the extensive history of interaction between Ashantis and Gas, Nii Abbey emphasized the significance of this occasion in Ghanaian traditional history.
“The Office of the Ga Mantse extends an invitation to all to witness this momentous event at the forecourt of the Ga Mantse’s Palace in Kaneshie, Accra, at 11 am on Sunday, June 9,” he declared.
