Otto Schweizer: Who Was FC Bayern Member Number 1 And What Was His Cause Of Death?

Munich-born former player and FC Bayern Member Number 1, Otto Schweizer, has passed away at the age of 97.

The death cause was not known yet. Many believe that he died because of natural causes. There is no illness, that comes in his death cause.

“Otto Schweizer joined FC Bayern as a young player and was a loyal servant of our club for over eight decades. He experienced lots and lots of exceptional success with his FC Bayern.

“Our thoughts go out to his family and friends: Our heartfelt commiserations in the name of the whole FC Bayern family”, FC Bayern president Herbert Hainer said in a statement.

Otto Schweizer was honored as member number 1 in November 2018.

Schweizer joined FC Bayern as a 14-year-old and progressed through the youth ranks at FCB. He moved up to the first team in 1953 and went on to captain the side.

He made 189 appearances and scored 38 goals in the Oberliga Süd. He was also second deputy chair of the club for a number of months in the 1960s and a member of the honorary committee for twelve years from 2004 to 2016. The honorary member looked back on 83 years as a member at FC Bayern.
