Oscar Tshiebwe, a Congolese basketball player for the Kentucky Wildcats of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), was born on November 27, 1999. Earlier, he was a member of the West Virginia Mountaineers. Tshiebwe received unanimous national player of the year honors in 2022.

At Pittsburgh, Tshiebwe recorded a double-double with 20 points and 17 rebounds in just his second collegiate contest. He was selected Big 12 Newcomer of the Week as a result. In the Cancun Challenge title game versus Wichita State, Tshiebwe led his team to victory and was named MVP with 19 points and 18 rebounds. On December 2, 2019, he once more received the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honor. Tshiebwe was selected for the Second Team All-Big 12 and the All-Newcomer Team at the end of the regular season.
