On the morning of Thursday, February 14, 2013, Oscar Pistorius shot his partner four times through the bathroom door of his house 2013, denying that he killed her in a fit of anger and stating he had moistened her for an intruder.

On December 19, 2017, it was confirmed that Pistorius had filed papers with the Constitutional Court to appeal the newly increased sentence and have his previous six-year reinstated.

On April 2018, it was confirmed that on March 28, 2018, the appeal was dismissed by the courts, and Pistorius will not be eligible for parole until at least 2023.
In 2018, the athlete’s father Henke Pistorius told the UK Times Newspaper that he ran bible classes and prayer groups for prisoners, including the jail’s most feared gang leader.
Oscar Pistorius has been denied parole. He was approved for parole consideration after serving more than half of his 13-year sentence.
