During Vice President Bawumia’s recent three-day tour of the Ashanti Region, King Paluta joined the campaign, performing his popular song “Aseda,” which has become a favorite of the Vice President.

Criticism arose over King Paluta’s involvement in politics amidst Ghana’s current political climate. However, in an interview on United Television in Accra, King Paluta defended his actions, emphasizing that there was nothing wrong with accepting an invitation from the Vice President.

“I heard a presenter criticizing me for joining the Vice President on his campaign bus. I think that person must have a tank in their head to think that way,” King Paluta remarked.

He continued, “Even the same presenter feels offended when artistes are invited and don’t show up. How much more should we respect the Vice President of the country, who is an elder statesman?”

Explaining his perspective further, King Paluta questioned the validity of objections raised against him, saying, “I went there because the Vice President wanted to see me. If you have a problem with that, it’s your cup of tea. I drove there with my own fuel, so if he offers to support me with fuel money, is that a crime?”

King Paluta’s response underscores his belief in respecting invitations from national leaders and highlights his independence of thought in engaging with political figures.
