Omari Spellman, an American-Lebanese professional basketball player for Anyang KGC in the Korean Basketball League (KBL), was born on July 21, 1997. He participated in college basketball for the Villanova Wildcats, who in 2018 won the national title. The Atlanta Hawks selected Spellman with the 30th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The Atlanta Hawks picked Spellman with the 30th overall choice in the 2018 NBA Draft on June 21, 2018. He was the final first-round pick from Villanova that year and one of four players selected from the school. On July 1st, 2018, Spellman signed with the Hawks. Spellman was sent to the Erie BayHawks, the NBA G League affiliate of the Hawks, on December 30, 2018.
