Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, the host of Angel FM’s morning show, has issued a heartfelt apology to the Nungua Traditional Council, the people of Nungua, and Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse, the overlord of Gadangme State, following his remarks on an alleged child marriage involving the traditional high priest.

Afrifa-Mensah clarified that he was unaware of the traditional leader’s status when he made his comments, mistakenly equating Gborbu Wulomo’s position to that of a fetish priest.
Expressing regret for his statements, he emphasized his respect for tradition and customs, asserting his stance against wrongdoing irrespective of cultural affiliations.
Acknowledging his misperception, Afrifa-Mensah extended his apologies to the Gadangme community and Gborbu Wulomo, affirming his commitment to upholding ethical standards despite the circumstances.

He reiterated his reverence for traditional leadership and disavowed any intent to incite tribal disputes.
The Ga Traditional Council had previously invited Afrifa-Mensah to address his alleged disparaging remarks against Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse and King Odaifio Welentsi III, the Paramount Chief of Nungua Traditional Area.
The meeting, scheduled for Friday, April 12, 2024, underscores the importance of respecting cultural institutions and fostering mutual understanding.
