O’dell Owens Wife: Meet Marchelle Owens

Marchelle Owens was the wife of  O’dell Moreno Owens was a physician, public health official, educator, and health advocate from the United States.

The couple got  married in 1976 and had three children. They lived in Amberley Village

Dr. O’dell Moreno Owens died on November 22, 2022, at the age of 74. He was only two weeks away from turning 75.

O’dell Owens was nationally known for his work in in vitro fertilization. He founded the University of Cincinnati’s in vitro fertilization program and was responsible for the city’s first successful conception and delivery, as well as the first pregnancy from a frozen embryo.

Owens resigned on September 14, 2016 to become president and CEO of Interact for Health, a Norwood-based non-profit that promotes public health.

From October 2016 to March 31, 2021, he led Interact for Health and its sister organization, InterAct for Change. He advised Ohio Governor Mike DeWine on equitable vaccine distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic.
