British production designer, Norman Reynolds has been reported dead. His cause of death has not been revealed yet. According to sources, he died peacefully surrounded by his wife and children by his side.

His death was confirmed by LucasFilm LTD in a statement. He was 89 years old at the time of death.
“Norman was an exceptional person to work with. His contribution to the first entries of the Star Wars saga and Indiana Jones series helped set the standard for the look of these beloved stories that have inspired generations of film designers. Our thoughts are with the family,” the statement read.

“Lucasfilm is deeply saddened by the loss of production designer and art director Norman Reynolds. Frank and I were shattered at the news of Norman’s passing this weekend,” Lucasfilm President, Kathleen Kennedy shared.

“Norman was a cherished husband, father, father-in-law, granddad, and great-grandad. You would not know that behind his unassuming, funny, and affable exterior lay an enormously talented production designer who brought so many of the films we all love to life through his iconic set designs. He was amazed at the fanbase his work meant to them. But above all, he loved and delighted in his large and growing family,” the family statement read.
Norman Reynolds was a recipient of two Academy Awards. Academy Award for Best Production Design 1978 (shared with John Barry, Leslie Diley, and Roger Christian) and Academy Award for Best Production Design (shared with Leslue Diley and Michael D. Ford).
He was known for several movies including Amazing Stories, Alive, Exorcist II, Star Wars trilogy, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and more.
