Norman Pattiz Wife: Meet Mary Turner

Mary Turner was he wife of Norman Pattiz an American broadcasting entrepreneur who founded Westwood One radio network.

Mary Turner is a former radio personality and Betty Ford Center board member. The couple lived in both Beverly Hills and Santa Barbara, California.

Norman Pattiz served as a reserve deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and on the Region 1 Homeland Security Advisory Council.

He supported the Academy of Music at Hamilton High School and served on the board of the Sheriff’s Youth Foundation.

Norman Pattiz passed away on December 4, 2022. He was 79. His death was reported by All Access, who stated that he died on Sunday but did not specify the cause of death.

In 1976, Pattiz founded Westwood One, a radio syndication company. It grew to become America’s largest radio network and one of the world’s most powerful media corporations.

Pattiz was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2009. Pattiz also received the Library of American Broadcasting’s Giants of Broadcasting Award.

Pattiz founded Launchpad in October 2012, which later became PodcastOne in February 2013. In 2017, Pattiz collaborated with the Los Angeles Lakers and Jay Mohr to create the “America’s Lakers Podcast With Jay Mohr.”
