American jurist, Norman Mordue has died. He died on December 29, 2022, at the age of 80. The cause of his death has not been announced by his family yet.

Mordue was a senior United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.

He earned the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and the Distinguished Service Cross while serving as a captain in the US Army in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. He was the county court judge from 1982 to 1988, and a State Supreme Court Justice in Onondaga County from 1986 to 1998.
Mordue was confirmed unanimously by the Senate on October 21, 1998, received his commission on October 1998 and took over office on December 4, 1998. He took senior status on June 30, 2013. He was the Chief Judge of the court from 2006 to 2011.
